Safety, Security and Risk Management – blended learning

This programme offers you the understanding of the importance of safety, security and risk management for the society, a company and an individual. Your knowledge can be applied in both private and public sectors and you will gain the skills to develop and lead high-quality safety and security functions now and in the future.
As a student you can specialize in risk management, corporate safety and security or preparedness in society. After completing specific preliminary studies, you may also study Cybersecurity- and Information Security studies offered by the Business Information Technology degree programme. The programme also includes core competence studies of Bachelor of Business Administration programme.
Laurea is the only UAS in Finland to offer bachelor’s degree studies in Security Management! This programme is suitable for you, if you are interested in combining business and handling the safety and security at workplace.
Study contents
The study contents consist of compulsory core competences, complementary competences, two work placements and a final thesis.

How to study
This programme is conducted via blended learning. Studies have on average three days of contact lessons, three times each semester. Most of the studies are conducted independently, in group work, online and possibly, if you wish, in your own workplace. Various intensive courses are also available, allowing you to complete some of the courses over a few weeks.

Expenses
University higher education is funded by the State through the Ministry of Education and Culture, so that students enrolled in regular degree programmes pay no tuition fees. However, students have to pay for their books and other materials, plus their accommodation and living expenses.
Tuition fees for Non-EU /EEA students: €8000/academic year
